Level 5 Deep Freediving Mastery
Why level 5?
Your limit is somewhere between 30 m – 50 m depth.
- Your equalization works ok, but only up to a certain depth.
- You actually feel comfortable down there. Even plus 30 m … but at a certain point you lose a little bit of your relaxation.
- Contractions always occur at a certain depth before the turn.
If any of the above points apply to you and you are motivated to develop your freediving, then let\’s talk. We\’ll help you. Without hard drills and without pointless tables!!!! Online or on El Hierro. Level 5 is systematic training. Personally tailored to you.
We look at your potential. Improve the equalization of pressure in the depths, no more early contractions, look at psychological and mental components and train the nervous system.
Each of these points has a swarm of possible small and large obstacles underneath. With the right instructions, you can solve them.
The training program is individually tailored to you. Goal:
- You will then dive much deeper than before. Relaxed \”Beautiful Dives\”.
- You learn to systematically build up your training for depth.
- You are laying the foundations for approaching the 50 m mark or will perhaps already reach it during the course.
If you reach the 50 m according to our system, I guarantee that the next 10-20 m will be less of a challenge than getting to 50.
Who is Level 5 for?
For all those who are motivated to feel as comfortable plus 40 m as a plush dolphin on a pillow.
- Instructors who want to integrate the 40 m even better or want to learn how to show their students how to get there in a systematic and relaxed way.
- Advanced Freedivers who realize that they are somehow stuck, but want to learn more.
- Preparation for your first competition.
- Competition Divers who have their limit between 50 m and 70 m.
How does it work?
The training plan tailored to you has 8-10 stages. We are constantly in contact or in the water together anyway. You only receive one level at a time. Depending on how you are doing, the stage is repeated or adapted and determines the design of the next stage. You should develop and unfold in depth. Without hard drills or blunt tables.
You should be here on El Hierro for at least 14 days for the program. Online coaching for this program in exceptional cases.
Online or El Hierro?
El Hierro is the gold standard. Online is possible if the conditions are right.
Of course, it\’s best if we go into the water together to train and I see you. This allows for optimal fine-tuning.
You can\’t come to El Hierro? But do you have the opportunity to train at depth at least 1-2 times a week? Then we can possibly work together online, but we should talk in detail beforehand – free of charge.

Experience at Level 5
My problem was that the relaxation and “good feeling” wore off at a certain depth (usually between 30 and 35 m, sometimes even earlier), accompanied by an unpleasant feeling of a breathing stimulus. Around 35m I usually had to make a stop as equalization became difficult, during the stop I regained some equalization and continued to 42m, but this was no longer a clean and relaxed dive. Thanks to targeted and methodical training with advanced pressure equalization techniques, I can now reach less than 35m with less air (no mouthfill, only N-fill). The unpleasant feeling of the breathing stimulus described above no longer occurs and I no longer need to stop. I reach this depth repeatedly in one session, relaxed and clean and with a “good feeling”, which is a lot of fun and makes for a very positive experience. My time and depth, which I can spend relaxed in the underwater world (i.e. not on the rope 😉 when reef diving), has also improved and increased the positive experience there too. The method and training plan Karsten used to perfect the N-fill worked very well and led to a gradual improvement in pressure equalization below the residual volume, i.e. by automating the processes and building confidence and awareness in the processes.Karsten knows how to combine methodical training and positive motivation.Karsten’s training philosophy focuses on the positive experience underwater and during training. For me, this is also an inspiration and motivation to incorporate new aspects into my way of freediving and to understand why. This helps me to develop my freediving under professional guidance and support and to achieve my goals.
Robin BabelWith rest and an extremely well-developed training plan, I finally felt like I could get back to myself. Not only did I see great progress in terms of performance, but I also gained a completely new approach to diving on a personal level. I’m already looking forward to my next time in the water with Freediving El Hierro.
