Guided Freediving
Tours & Snorkelling

“Free Freediving”. Really really free freediving. Along the coast or at a particular spectacular dive spot. Take in the underwater landscapes. Marvel at the flora and fauna and perhaps take a selfie with a moray eel.

The sea around El Hierro is full of life and fascinating underwater landscapes. That’s why one of our favorite activities is to enjoy weightlessness in the water at the most beautiful spots and coastlines. Putting what we have learned on the training buoy into practice in the open water.

Get in touch if you would like to enjoy the flora and fauna of the island under water, …
… but you may not have any snorkeling or freediving equipment with you.
… You want to freedive or snorkel at a dive site that is safe in terms of currents, wind and waves.
… where the water is clearest and calmest on this day.
… where you are most likely to see fish.

Currents and sudden winds or wave movements and the tides are a big issue on El Hierro. A small island in the middle of the Atlantic has different rules than a calm bay in the Mediterranean. We have the experience to know when and where it is safe and where you can not only get into the water but also get out again.

You don’t need any prerequisites for snorkeling except that you can swim. We offer snorkeling from 2 to a maximum of 6 people. The diving depth is limited to 3m.

Freedivers who want to go deeper should have at least a 2** Freedive certificate.

You can get a taste of what’s to come in the Flora & Fauna and Discovery Galleries.

Experience with Tours & Snorkelling

I would really recommend freediving with Freediving El Hierro. Karsten and his team are great instructors and El Hierro is such a gem of tranquillity. Karsten is a friendly person, is very professional and has a keen eye on what will help you to dive in a more relaxt and effective manner. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro. Don’t forget to also join the excursions, as Karsten will lead you to (and through) some of El Hierro’s amazing underwater scenery.
