One of the numerous beautiful dive sites of El Hierro lately offered a glimpse on two rarely seen „natives“. A Sepia and a Leopard Eel. The Sepia are difficult to discover because they are somehow the „chameleons of the sea“. Within a second they can switch their camouflage.
The Leopard Eel doesn´t leave his hideaways too many times. This maverick looks like a dangerous sea snake, but is a harmless fellow. Maybe he just swims around in a big cat design to look scary. Therefore the locals call this precious colored eel: Culebrita – which means „Little Snake“. Thomas who did a discovery dive with Freediving-El-Hierro was the lucky guy to get both of this rather rarely seen species into his camera.
